Privacy
Last updated 7 October 2026. The same policy the app shows, at the address App Store Connect points to. It covers GymLog 1.3 and later; if your app still has the voice coach (version 1.1 or earlier), “Earlier versions” below applies too.
The short version: your training, food and body data never leave your phone. There is no account and no sign-in. The app asks the internet only for an exercise's video or a food's nutrition, and counts a few anonymous milestones, with no identifiers, to learn whether the app works for people.
Who we are
GymLog is made by 12824574 Canada Inc. (LunaLink AI), a company incorporated in Canada, which is the party responsible for the handling of data described below. Questions about your data: support@gymlog.fun.
What stays on your device
Your profile, goals, workout history, bodyweight log and nutrition log are stored only on your phone: in the app's own storage, and in a copy in the app's Documents folder that your own iPhone backup (iCloud or a computer) includes, so a restored phone gets your log back. Apple Health data is never in that copy. None of it is uploaded to us or visible to us. You can erase all of it, that copy included, from Profile → Reset app & start over.
Exercise videos and food lookups
The plan, the calorie math, the Sunday check-in and the reminders are all computed on your phone, and the app works without a connection. Two things come from the internet: the exercise videos, steps and muscle maps in workouts and the exercise library, and nutrition for foods you search for or scan. Those requests go to gymlog.fun, which forwards them to Your Move, our exercise video and food data provider, with only the exercise's id, the food you typed or the barcode you scanned, never your log, your name or anything about you. The barcode scanner reads the camera on your phone; frames are never uploaded. Video links are kept in memory for the session and are not stored on your phone. Turn videos off in Profile → App and the app never asks for them.
Progress photos
Progress photos you take in GymLog are saved only on your phone, in a folder marked to stay out of iCloud and computer backups. They are never uploaded, they are not in GymLog's backup file, and they are deleted when you delete them, choose Delete all photos, or reset the app.
Importing and sharing
Importing from Hevy or Strong reads the file you choose on your phone, and nothing in it is sent anywhere. Sharing a Sunday verdict makes a picture on your phone and hands it to the share sheet: it goes only where you send it, and it never shows a bodyweight number or anything you ate.
Creator codes
If you type a creator's code on the GymLog Pro offer, that code and an anonymous purchase ID (the one RevenueCat assigns, not your name, email or Apple Account) go to InfluTo, our creator-referral service, so the creator can be paid a share of your subscription. RevenueCat also sends InfluTo each GymLog Pro purchase and renewal with that anonymous ID, so it can find the ones that came with a code. InfluTo never sees your training, food or body data.
Anonymous milestones
To learn whether GymLog works for people, a new install sends up to five anonymous milestones, each one once: that it was installed; that the first workout was logged within five minutes of first opening the app; that the app was still in use after two weeks; that a session was logged in the second week; and that the Sunday check-in was opened by then. If you answer "Where did you hear about GymLog?" after subscribing, that answer is sent the same way, as one word such as "instagram". Each is a single word sent to gymlog.fun, which adds one to that day's count. Nothing in it identifies your phone or you, and none of your training, food or body data is in it. If you updated from an earlier version, nothing is sent.
No accounts
GymLog has no accounts and no sign-in. There is nothing to register, nothing to log into, and no profile of yours on any server of ours. Your training data lives on your phone and is erased with the app, or from Profile → Reset app & start over.
Purchases
GymLog Pro is billed by Apple: we never receive or store your payment details. To know whether you have Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. It sees an anonymous app user ID that RevenueCat generates (not your name, email or Apple Account), your purchases and their dates, and basic app and device information. It never sees your training, food or body data. RevenueCat's privacy policy is at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Apple Health
On iPhone you can connect Apple Health so your weigh-ins, sleep and recovery come in on their own. With your permission, GymLog reads your recent sleep, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, activity (active energy and steps) and body weight. It is used only on your device: body weight becomes your weigh-ins for calorie targets and the Sunday check-in; sleep, resting heart rate and heart rate variability, each compared with your own usual, shape your daily briefing; steps and active energy show on Today; and none of it is ever uploaded to us or anyone else. If you turn on “Save workouts to Apple Health” in Profile, GymLog also writes each finished session to Health as a strength workout with its duration and estimated calories, and nothing else. GymLog never uses Health data for advertising. You can turn this off anytime in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health → GymLog.
Other network requests
Some exercise form photos load from a public code-hosting site (raw.githubusercontent.com) when you open a demo, a normal image request that carries no personal data. Tapping “watch a demo” opens a YouTube search in your browser, a normal web navigation, not something we initiate on your behalf. On launch the app checks Expo's update service (u.expo.dev) for bug-fix updates to the app's code; that request carries basic app-version and device-platform information, never anything you've logged. If you send us a message from the Support screen, the name, email and message you type there are delivered to our inbox by Web3Forms, our form provider; that happens only when you press Send, and only with what you typed into the form.
What we don't do
No ads. No selling or renting your data to anyone. No advertising, attribution or cross-app tracking SDKs: we don't follow you around other apps or websites, and nothing you log is used to target you. Apart from Apple, which distributes the app, RevenueCat for subscriptions and Your Move as described above, and Web3Forms if you choose to use the support form, no third party receives anything about you. The milestone counts are kept with Upstash, our database provider, as plain counts per day.
Earlier versions (1.1 and before)
These versions include a voice coach that runs on OpenAI's servers, so a conversation has to reach it. When you speak, your audio goes to OpenAI while you are talking; when you type, your message goes instead. With it we send a short slice of recent conversation and a summary of your plan and targets, your training numbers and not your identity; never your name, email or full history. Coach conversations are stored on your phone. Purchases in those versions are recognised through RevenueCat, which receives your subscription status and nothing you log. Custom exercises may fetch a stock photo through our server (Pexels), carrying only the exercise's name. Apart from Apple, RevenueCat and OpenAI, no third party receives anything about you in those versions. Updating to 1.3 removes all of this.
This website
gymlog.fun uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links people use, in aggregate. Google sets a cookie for that; it tells us nothing about who you are, and nothing you do in the app ever reaches it. Google's handling of that data is described in Google's privacy policy. If you subscribe to the weekly email, we keep your email address to send it, and every email has a link to unsubscribe.
Children
GymLog isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page. It's the same page whether you're reading it in the app or at gymlog.fun/privacy.
